It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I couldn’t help but write about Facebook’s rebrand to become Meta.
It’s not the first time Facebook has attempted a rebrand. In fact in 2019, they had rebranded to separate the parent company from the product while telling their users (on Whatsapp, Instagram and their other products) about the company behind their most used products.
This time around, it’s a much larger rebrand with a complete name change and a strong change in the direction & priorities of the firm as well. Signalling to the world about their focus on AR (Also VR & NFTs) seems like a desperate move at the right time.
