I believe I was a part of the last generation to use a floppy disk. Even with all its limitations, a state-of-the-art 3.5-inch floppy disk with a massive 1.44MB storage capacity, was “enough” back then. I remember one of the first awards I ever won was for a PPT I made for a school competition.… Continue reading Modeling a childhood memory

Taking things apart
About two decades back I took apart my first lighter. I am really good at taking things apart. And only average at putting them back together. But it’s always fun to see what makes stuff work. Last week I took apart another lighter to model it in 3D. And I am still pretty mind-blown by… Continue reading Taking things apart
Comparing NFTs & Brands
Over the last several months, “fungible” has become a word we have heard over and over again (thanks to Web3). It turns out that the concept of fungibility (or non-fungibility) can be applied to the world of business & brands as well. Most products & services are fungible. A lot of companies can offer the… Continue reading Comparing NFTs & Brands
The brilliance of the dish antenna
A while back I tried modelling a dish antenna to be as physically accurate as possible. While I am sure you’ve seen a dish antenna near you.You might not have realised how well thought out this common piece of hardware is. With just 5 pieces of metal, this dish antenna can be mounted literally anywhere! It’s… Continue reading The brilliance of the dish antenna
A Valentine’s Day Gift
Over the past many years I’ve been lucky to have had the opportunity to design for some truly remarkable brands. For every single one of those projects, I’ve had to scour the internet looking for inspiration & references. And I’ve always wished it was easier to find great design work to learn from. Out of… Continue reading A Valentine’s Day Gift
Google Chrome’s logo update
Google Chrome‘s logo got a very small update & it’s not something you would notice. While it got some platform-specific enhancements (like a shadow for MacOS & gradients on Windows),what caught my attention was their reason to update its color: 𝘛𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳 𝘷𝘪𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 & 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦. Which leads to an interesting question:… Continue reading Google Chrome’s logo update
7 brand terms you should know
A few years back I got to know about Marty Neumeier in an interview by The Futur. I found his opinions & thoughts about brand building so compelling & well-thought-through that I bought a bunch of books written by him, one of which was ‘BRAND A-Z’. It’s a handy guide I refer to from time to time &… Continue reading 7 brand terms you should know
Fascinated with hinges
3D forces you to inspect the world & appreciate the small things. This apple mint box, took 4 days & 3 redos to get right. While it looks like a simple box, creating the hinge at the back was a total pain. I had to examine it for days to be able to recreate it. Long… Continue reading Fascinated with hinges
Things young designers overlook

She’s a Bangalore based art designer who has worked across a wide range of projects in the graphic & motion space in the last 8 years & has been a part of teams at Amazon & Glance Business. Watch this short clip to find out what… Continue reading Things young designers overlook
Uncovering Brand Touchpoints
When launching a new brand, most people/companies stick to the basics:👉 Name👉 Logo👉 Website👉 Tagline or Messaging These four are able to signal the legitimacy of the brand, enough to generate awareness. But, with a staggering amount of me-too products and services popping up in every domain, it’s hard to delight your customers or stand… Continue reading Uncovering Brand Touchpoints
